    Introduction:

    Hi,
    My name is Jonny!

If you haven’t already caught on, I love Open Source. I enjoy working with Linux/Unix/Solaris, and try to explain some of the hurdles that I come across, and the solutions in this blog.

I also enjoy dabbling in guitar. I currently own a Fender Squire Strat & a Jasmine by Takamine.

I also enjoy dirtbiking. I have a fully refurbished 2003 Yahama YZ250F. A couple years back when I broke my collar bone (the first time) I stripped it down to the frame. I got the frame powder coated, cleaned everything, rewired the few sensors & electronic ignition, and re-assembled everything.

I am currently taking a break, camping, resting, and traveling. I’m currently going to school working toward my B.S. in Computer Engineering, or might go toward web design

I just recently updated my resume (a task long put off):

    Favorite Programs

Here is a rough list of the software that I love, and use on a daily basis. I will update this as I go, and add little descriptions as to why they are my favorite, and maybe some screenshots. I need to organize this a lot!!!

    AUR Packages

AUR is one of my favorite things about Arch Linux. It’s a great place for people to stash their PKGBUILDS, and it has a wonderful community aspect to it. I don’t maintain a ton of packages, but I try to keep them up to date, and keep the PKGBUILD’s clean. Here are the packages I maintain:

    Dotfiles

For all those linux gurus out there, you know what a dotfile is (ie. ~/.xinitrc) Since I just redid my laptop, and lost some of my configs because of a cp err, I’m now backing them up. So I made a github for my configs, let me know if there is anything you would improve on?

    Notes

I take all my notes via the neat TiddlyWiki HTML wiki. I use a custom variation of TiddlyWiki called MPTM (Monkey Pirate TiddlyWiki) I don’t feel that any of the information is private, and I would love to share my notes. I back up my notes via dropbox, and store them in my public folder. Feel free to peruse around.

    Scripts

I like to try and write scripts for tasks that I know I will do more than once. Either that, or write one so I won’t have to remember a long string of commands for something that I will use every once in a while. I’ve setup a git hub repo so that you can check out the scripts that I’ve built, and use. I’ll prolly update them every once in a while, but most of them are simple, and to the point.
